Calmoniq is built privacy-first. Your financial information stays in an encrypted file on your own device. We do not have a copy of it, and we cannot see it.

Your financial data

Everything you enter in the App (income, accounts, balances, property details, notes) is stored only in an encrypted file (AES-256) on your computer or wherever you choose to keep it, for example a Dropbox or OneDrive folder, or a USB drive. It is never uploaded to us. We have no account system and no server that holds your financial data, so there is nothing for us to lose, sell, or hand over.

What does leave your device

The App connects to the internet only in these specific cases:

• No account or key needed: Calmoniq is free and needs no sign-in or licence key, so there's nothing to activate and no login to store.
• Update checks: the App periodically checks our public releases page (GitHub) to see if a newer version is available. This sends only a standard web request, not your data.

No tracking or analytics

The App contains no analytics, advertising, telemetry, or tracking. We do not profile you or your usage.

Payments

Calmoniq is free during early access, so there is nothing to pay and no payment information to collect. If paid plans are introduced later, this page will be updated to describe how payments are handled.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored and processed by our email provider, MailerLite, under their privacy policy. We use it only to send the newsletter you requested, with your express consent (confirmed by a double opt-in email), as required by Canada's anti-spam law (CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Subscribing is entirely optional and separate from using the App.

Your control

• Export: you can export your data to PDF or CSV from within the App at any time.
• Backup: use File → Back Up Now or Save a Copy to keep encrypted copies.
• Delete: to delete everything, simply delete your data file (and any backups). There is no server copy to remove.

Children

The App is intended for adults managing their own finances and is not directed at children under 13.

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date.
